Assemblymember Levine Celebrates Black History, Urges Us to Remember Lessons

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

(Sacramento) – California State Assemblymember Marc Levine (D-San Rafael) rose on the floor of the State Assembly to strongly support Assembly Concurrent Resolution 6, which designates February 2015 as Black History Month in California.  Representing the Legislative Jewish Caucus, Assemblymember Levine reminded us that we must not only honor the African American trailblazers of our nation, but we must also learn lessons from the adversity and struggles these brave heroes faced.

“Black History Month is also about recounting the lessons of our nation’s past and continuing the struggle to fight for equality,” said Levine.  “True equality, not just in law, but in how we live our lives.”
