Assemblymember Levine Adjourns the California Assembly in Memory of Robin Williams
(Sacramento) – The world is mourning the loss of Oscar Award winning actor and great comedic talent, Robin Williams. California State Assemblymember Marc Levine (D-San Rafael) adjourned Assembly session in memory of the international superstar, who was also a Marin County resident.
Even though many of us do not understand why Williams took his own life, Assemblymember Levine explained that his death was the result of a disease.
“He bravely battled addiction and mental illness much the way that others battle cancer or a heart condition,” Assemblymember Levine explained. “Unfortunately and sadly, sometimes those battles are lost. Robin Williams was not alone in his suffering. 3,500 Californians die by suicide every year—more than in traffic fatalities and nearly double the number of homicides.”
