Assemblymember Levine, Senator McGuire, Senator Lara and Supervisor Arnold Host Healthcare Town Hall

Saturday, July 8, 2017

(Sacramento)- Today Assemblymember Levine (D-Marin County), Senator Mike McGuire (D-Healdsburg) and Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bells Gardens) hosted a Healthcare Town Hall at Redwood High School in Larkspur, CA.

Speakers discussed how California can fight back against the Trump Administration’s attempts to roll back the Affordable Care Act and the various options for making sure all Californians have access to affordable, quality healthcare.

“Access to quality, affordable health care must be recognized as the right of all Californians,” said Assemblymember Levine. “There should be no obstacle to the medicine, treatment or surgery necessary to keep healthy.  And we must work together to forge a path to universal health care that works for everyone.”

“The fight for healthcare is the social fight of our lifetime. With the national health system under attack, the time has come for California to advance the critical conversation about Universal Healthcare. Over 400 neighbors turned out today and both Assemblymember Levine and I were inspired by the conversation and the call to action”, said Senator McGuire.

“We are California. We lead. We set the trend. It is time to send the message to Washington, D.C. that when you try to limit care we are going to double down on healthcare for all”, said Senator Lara.

Assemblymember Marc Levine represents the 10th Assembly District, which includes Marin and Sonoma Counties.
