Assemblymember Levine Comments on President Trump’s Decision to end DACA

Tuesday, September 5, 2017

(Sacramento)- Assemblymember Marc Levine (D-Marin County) joined his colleagues for a press conference and issued the following statement regarding President Trump’s decision to end DACA:

“President Trump’s decision to end DACA furthers his goal to implement an immigration policy of ethnic cleansing. The Trump Administration has spent the last eight months collecting information about every single DACA recipient. This information can be turned over to Attorney General Session’s deportation machine. This is evil. Dreamers are students, teachers, entrepreneurs and valued members of our community. They deserve a path to citizenship, not the fear and uncertainty caused by the decision today.”

In 2015, Assemblymember Levine authored AB 900 which provides additional support for unaccompanied and undocumented minors living in California. Assemblymember Levine is a principal coauthor of SB 54, the California Values Act.

Assemblymember Marc Levine represents the 10th Assembly District which includes Marin and Sonoma Counties.
