Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen Hosts Drive-Thru Food Distribution to Support Families Impacted by Federal Government Shutdown

SACRAMENTO, CA — In response to the ongoing federal government shutdown, Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen (District 10) and her team are stepping up to ensure that no family goes hungry. Throughout the month of November, they will be hosting a Drive-Thru Food Distribution every Tuesday, providing free fresh produce to local residents.

The food distribution will take place at ARI, located at 6270 Elder Creek Road, Sacramento, CA 95824, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Community members are encouraged to enter through Elder Creek from Stockton Boulevard, remain in their vehicles, and receive culturally relevant fresh produce — available while supplies last.

“These past few weeks have reminded us just how connected we all are, and how deeply families feel the impact of uncertainty,” said Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen. “My team and I have spent days talking about the government shutdown and how it will affect families. Many of us grew up relying on some form of assistance, and we know what it feels like to worry about putting food on the table. That’s why my team and I decided that we needed to do something.

Throughout November, we’ll be hosting a drive-thru food distribution every Tuesday to make sure families have access to fresh, culturally relevant produce and the support they need. No one should have to face these times alone. Our community is strongest when we stand together.”

Assemblymember Nguyen encourages residents to spread the word to neighbors and loved ones who may benefit from the program.
