(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Marc Levine (D – San Rafael) today released the following statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s 2019 State of the State address.
“Governor Gavin Newsom today laid out an ambitious agenda for California’s future. Fighting climate change, increasing access to quality healthcare, creating a 21st century education system for a 21st century economy, addressing California’s housing crisis and modernizing our infrastructure are no small tasks. Fortunately, California is up for the challenge. I am especially interested in exploring Governor Newsom’s plan for infrastructure modernization. With the recent closure of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge in my district, we must not delay our work to rebuild the Golden State’s most critical infrastructure before, not after a natural disaster. I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues and Governor Newsom in meeting the challenges that lie ahead.”
