“Make the Golden State Shine”
Assemblymember Marc Levine (D-San Rafael) today announced the creation of an ongoing challenge for Marin and Sonoma County residents in the 10th Assembly District.
“We have all had experiences with various agencies – Be it the DMV office, Department of Consumer Affairs, Caltrans, State Parks, or other agencies. In many cases, people walk away thinking, “There has to be a better way,” said Levine. “I want to hear about your experiences with agencies and your suggestions. The world is always changing. Technology and innovation are constantly making our lives easier. It is important for government to be mindful of new ways to do its job better.”
Levine is asking residents of his Assembly district to go to his website and complete a “Make the Golden State Shine” form to suggest changes in how state government serves Californians. Some suggestions may involve a change in law. Others may require an agency to change its approach to service delivery. Some suggestions may involve the elimination of duplicative, costly, or unneeded programs.
Throughout the year Levine will announce and recognize outstanding submissions.
“Government can always do better,” said Levine. “It just makes sense to go to the people directly and ask for suggestions for how the Golden State can shine.”
