Marin Voice: We need to increase suicide prevention measures

The Centers for Disease Control just issued a report confirming something we’ve suspected for years — the suicide rate has been on a steady rise throughout this young century.

Nationally, the rate rose about 30 percent from 1999 to 2016. In California, it’s closer to 15 percent. Only one state — Nevada — showed a decrease, and that was a single percentage point.
