I am taking part in a hearing on Friday with other North Bay legislators that I would like to share with you.

The hearing will call on utility representatives, regulators and ratepayer advocates to discuss industry best practices for wildfire prevention, mitigation and response, ratepayer and public expectations, establishment and implementation of safety policies, and oversight.

I will be joined by other North Bay legislators who represent communities that were destroyed by the wildfires in October.

Legislative oversight brings accountability to the utilities’ practices and behavior. We must be proactive in protecting Californians from potential dangers like the wildfires that claimed too many lives and destroyed thousands of our neighbors’ homes.
