Levine Legislation to Protect Genetic Data Signed by Governor Newsom

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Legislation by Assemblymember Marc Levine (D – Marin County) to require Californians to be notified by a company or government agency if there has been a breach of their genetic data was signed Tuesday by Governor Gavin Newsom. AB 825 defines genetic data and adds it to the definition of personal information in California’s Data Breach Notification Law.

Levine Legislation to Help Victims of Domestic Violence File Restraining Orders Online Passes State Legislature
